Lovely 2 bed villa situated in a modern development in Portiragnes Plage, close to the historic town of Beziers. 10 minute walk to the long sandy beach of Portiragnes Plage (a perennial Blue Flag winner) and the warm waters of the Mediterranean. The villa overlooks a nature reserve and is situated in an area which still retains its rustic charm and the relaxing and hurried way of French village life. It is an uncommercialised, clean and safe area for families and is characterised by the absence of overdevelopment and high rise apartment blocks. The villa sleeps 4-5 people and is ideal for families, couple and a small group. It has one double bed and another bedroom with a bunk bed. There is a further high quality and comfortable double sofa bed downstairs. Living room/kitchen is fully equipped with hob, microwave, washing machine, kettle, coffee maker,pots and pans, crockery and all the utensils you will need. Outside there is a terrace overlooking the green fields and with views towards the nature reserve and the distant mountains. Just behind the villa is the swimming pool (residents only) and it is open during the summer season (check dates with us). Riding stables, boules courts and wonderful cycling routes free of cars (especially along the UNESCO Heritage listed and tree lined Canal du Midi), shops and amenities are all within a 5-10 minute walk or a 1-2 minute drive. Tennis courts are a 5 minute drive away. The Blue Flag beach has many summer activities (waterskiing, sailing, etc) and there are a number of organised activities (such as football, rounders and kayaking trips) free of charge. There are many other activities such as aerial tree walking (like Go Ape), go karting, huge water parks with gigantic slides, a daredevil amusement park, a fishing farm, vineyard tours and the refreshing mountain walks all within easy reach. There is an excellent golf course a 15-20 minute drive away. Very easy access from Beziers airport (10mins away), Montpellier airport (about 40-45 mins) and several other airports (less than 1 hour). Suitable for a long weekend (perhaps to see the rugby powerhouses of Toulouse and Perpignan in the Heineken Cup or Montpellier in the European Challenge Cup), a week or longer and if you want to rent more than 1 villa, please lets us know. We are happy accommodate any length of stay and your stay does not need to be a Saturday to Saturday or for 7 nights. We can arrange very reasonably priced babysitting for you to be undertaken by an English girl whose family live in the same development.
